Why I Love #FRAwards - Kerri Turtill, Evolution Money
In last year's Financial Reporter Industry Awards, Evolution Money won our Highly Commended Specialist Lender award.

We spoke to Kerri Turtill, Operations Director at Evolution Money, about the importance of promoting consumer confidence and Winners’ Party etiquette.
FR: What impact has winning a Financial Reporter award had on your business?
Achieving Highly Recommended last year was a great accolade, recognising Evolution Money as a main player in the second charge industry. Since winning the award, Evolution has continued to establish itself through the launch of a number of new innovative products and the syndication of our banking facility which saw Shawbrook Bank come on board alongside Royal Bank of Scotland. The award has helped to promote consumer and industry confidence whilst highlighting Evolution Money in a crowded market.
FR: What advice would you give to this year's potential winners?
Whoever is lucky enough to win should really embrace the opportunity to be recognised in the industry as a company who has been voted for going the extra mile in their chosen category.
FR: Why is it so important to recognise good practice within the industry?
As the market grows it's impetrative that good practice works in hand in hand with healthy competition. The market needs to expand and this will only happen with innovative products and lenders offering niche solutions to their customers.
FR: Why should you win an award again this year?
The whole team have worked exceptionally hard and to win the Specialist Lender category this year would be a great testament to that hard work. Evolution Money assess each customer on their individual circumstances and don’t rely solely on credit scores - we adopt a true personal approach to lending. The extensive stress testing and detailed affordability reviews that we carry out have already been recognised as award winning which demonstrates that we really are a specialist niche lender. Winning the award would really boost staff morale and recognise our people as being some of the best in the industry.
FR: Any advice for Winners’ Party attendees?
Don’t drink too much before the awards start, you don’t want to fall over on the way! And practice your winning and losing face, just in case.
