Halifax enhances broker experience with new mortgage application system
Halifax says it is continuing its investment in the intermediary market ahead of its rebrand to Lloyds.
Halifax Intermediaries is enhancing its online mortgage application experience for brokers with a modernised platform.
Launched this week for purchase and remortgage applications, the new system aims to make it easier to navigate applications, upload documents, and submit self-employed cases.
The improvements include a more intuitive design, clearer content and smoother navigation, drag-and-drop document uploads with the ability to upload multiple files at once, and a simpler journey for self-employed applications, with fewer data fields to complete.
The changes form part of the evolution towards Lloyds’ branding in early 2027, alongside a series of commitments to the intermediary market, including revised procuration fees, a named BDM contact, all documents reviewed within 24 hours, and continued investment in tech, data, insight and tools.
It follows the extension of the Lloyds Premier current account mortgage discount to eligible Halifax intermediary mortgages in July.
While the online experience is being modernised, Halifax says brokers do not need to take any action ahead of the change.
Log-in details and the way brokers submit business remain the same, as does the core application journey. Brokers will therefore be able to start using the refreshed experience straight away.
Frances, Cassidy, head of strategic and technology partnerships at Lloyds Banking Group, said: “We promised the change over to the Lloyds brand would deliver more for brokers and their clients, and these improvements are more evidence of us putting that into practice.
“Brokers told us where we could make their day-to-day experience easier. We’ve listened, with a cleaner application journey, simpler document uploads and a more straightforward process for self-employed cases.
“Just as importantly, we’re improving the experience without changing the things brokers already rely on. Our core application journey is still familiar, while the modernised platform gives us greater flexibility to keep improving and respond to broker feedback.
“Alongside our wider commitments on service, support and value, this continued investment is about building a stronger intermediary proposition as we move towards completing our Lloyds rebrand in 2027.”
