UTB's asset finance brand hires Baffana as broker manager ahead of launch
Stance Asset Finance, the new asset finance brand backed by United Trust Bank, has appointed Cherrice Baffana as broker manager as it prepares to launch to Founders Club members in February.
Baffana joins from Metro Bank, where she spent eight years, most recently working for four years in business development support within the bank’s asset finance division.
In her new role, Baffana will work with brokers and relationship managers to support the launch and ongoing development of Stance Asset Finance, with a focus on building broker relationships and supporting new business growth.
Her appointment follows the hire of Alex Fowler, who joined the business in December as broker development manager.
Stance Asset Finance is the new asset finance proposition from United Trust Bank. While it will be supported by UTB’s operational functions and technology, the business will operate with its own dedicated sales and underwriting teams.
The lender will focus on funding and refinance solutions for hard assets across a range of industries, targeting cases that fall outside UTB’s core credit criteria.
Nathan Mollett, head of Stance Asset Finance, said:
“Cherrice has joined us at a very exciting time as we make the final preparations for launching Stance Asset Finance to our Founders Club members ahead of a full roll-out in Q2. Cherrice brings excellent experience and great broker relationships both of which will help us to quickly establish Stance’s position in the marketplace working with Alex Fowler and the other new hires we have in progress.”
Baffana added: “There’s a real buzz about Stance Asset Finance and I’m looking forward to working with the team to ensure a successful Founders Club launch and making sure we’re off to a fantastic start when we open our doors to the rest of the market.”
