Second charge mortgage lender, Tandem Bank, has announced the launch of Connect by Tandem – a new platform designed to enhance the broker experience through automation and smart technology.
The platform aims to how brokers interact with the bank by streamlining case management and saving time, with a test phase reducing 4.5 working days off processing times.
Key features include:
• Advanced API integration enables brokers to submit applications electronically, significantly reducing manual data entry.
• New broker portal – A single, central hub for automated underwriting policy requirements and case tracking, document uploads and case updates.
• Automation – Streamlines processes such as EPC discounts, AVMs and affordability checks.
• Enhanced document management – Simplifies uploads, tracking and case notifications for brokers.
Nigel Brookes, director of mortgage distribution at Tandem, commented: “Our aspiration is to be the lender of choice in the second charge market and we know that means making the journey easier and smoother for brokers to deliver ever improving customer outcomes. Connect is a major step forward in that journey – automating the heavy lifting of loan processing and reducing friction – freeing up more time for brokers to focus on their customers.”
Michelle Mills, head of specialist lending at Loanable, said: "Connect by Tandem has significantly streamlined the process for advisors, making it easier to access income and expenditure information directly from the credit file. The application of the EPC discount is also simplified, allowing for quicker and more efficient customer quotations. Additionally, the platform provides a seamless way to explore and view different product options. Our case managers benefit from having all updates consolidated in one location, along with the ability to upload documents in a single area, enhancing overall efficiency.”
Vanessa Gresty, processing manager at Ocean Finance, added: "Having all communication in one place has removed duplication of work, making cases much easier to track. The ‘Claims & Evidence’ task list ensures requirements are not missed while the notes section allows for clear communication between the Ocean and Tandem teams. We’re excited to see what enhancements will be developed in the future."
