Signature appoints national development manager
Signature Property Finance has appointed Paul Tromans to a dual role within the business, as relationship manager for the Midlands and national development manager to progress small-scale housebuilding projects.
"This appointment demonstrates the growing need within the market to fund small-scale developments from the ground up"
Following a long career with management positions in UK banking, Paul brings more than 30 years’ lending experience to the roles.
Signature CEO, Tony Gilbertson, commented: “This appointment demonstrates the growing need within the market to fund small-scale developments from the ground up, as more local authorities turn to smaller house builders to fill the gap in the supply of new homes.
“It also shows our ambition to reach beyond the traditional bridging loan market in which we have built our reputation and Paul is just the individual Signature needs to get our funding message out to developers in what remains of 2020 and beyond.
“Given Paul’s reputation for getting deals done and his extensive list of contacts, we are confident our typical short-term property finance products will also find many new takers across the Midlands as he fills the RM role, taking deals from enquiry to drawdown.
“Our single point of contact approach to lending is delivering exceptional results as we continue to hit targets set before the lockdown, which demonstrates our commitment to stay calm and keep lending is paying dividends.
“Paul is just the latest piece in the Signature jigsaw, showing a lender that works hard to get deals done and find reasons to lend, not turn deals away or change the terms at the first sign of difficulty. Paul understands the Signature way and is a great asset.”
Paul Tromans added: “Despite the pessimism coursing through the sector driven by firms that lack the resilience and vision of Signature, I’m joining a business with a clearly defined growth strategy and ambition to match. And that excites me.
“In recent years the business has developed its client-centric service to become the short-term lender of choice for a growing number of property professionals. The service is backed by a range of innovative products, with development finance just the most recent example.
“They provide a lean, efficient service, without clients being passed through multiple hands; when deals fit the criteria, decisions are made quickly and importantly, stuck to. Clients trust Signature to deliver what they need, when they need it, which makes my life dealing with brokers much easier.
“I’m also keen to get out onto building plots to understand the vision of the developers looking to Signature to provide the finance they need to help solve the UK’s housing crisis, one home at a time. I’m confident my experience will help Signature achieve the stretching targets it has set itself.”
