Shawbrook expands corporate lending team in the Midlands
Shawbrook Bank has expanded its corporate lending proposition across the Midlands.
"It's been great to re-immerse myself in the Midlands business community, reconnecting with familiar contacts as well as forging new connections."
Ian Bath joined Shawbrook in January as senior director in Corporate lending, with over 35 years’ experience in senior debt and asset-based lending (ABL), gained with a variety of High Street and alternative lenders.
Prior to joining Shawbrook, Ian was head of ABL sales with Nucleus Commercial Finance and previously spent time at Lloyds, RBS and KBC Bank.
Amy Beasley also recently joined Shawbrook as a director, having previously worked at HSBC where she was relationship director, overseeing a portfolio and building a base of new customers. Prior to this, Amy specialised in business development at companies including Frontier Development Capital and Mazars, both in Birmingham.
At Shawbrook, Amy will focus on providing flexible and bespoke funding packages to support mid-size corporate businesses, working alongside Ian to grow Shawbrook’s presence in the Midlands.
Ian said: “It’s fantastic to be part of the team at Shawbrook. The bank has an enviable reputation for delivering innovative, structured and flexible working capital solutions to a range of SME and mid-market businesses.
“It’s Shawbrook’s ability to offer both asset based and leveraged solutions, or a combination of the two, that will be key to meeting the needs of our customers – including advisers, introducers, sponsors and their clients - as we emerge from the pandemic.
“My previous role as head of ABL sales at Nucleus was national, so at Shawbrook it’s been great to re-immerse myself in the Midlands business community, reconnecting with familiar contacts as well as forging new connections.
“The Midlands has a proud heritage of manufacturing, as well as being at the forefront of new technologies, and is well-placed to lead the UK’s economic recovery.”
Amy said: “Seven months into my role at Shawbrook and my expectations have been exceeded. Shawbrook is an ambitious and agile business, with the ability to create flexible, bespoke solutions tailored to individual client needs. It’s great to be part of a nimble business that provides outstanding solutions, and that truly puts its clients front and centre of everything it does.”
Mark Parsons, managing director and head of ABL at Shawbrook, said: “In response to activity we’re seeing from businesses across the Midlands, including growing demand from clients in the region, we’re continuing to build capacity by attracting more fantastic talent to Shawbrook.
“New people we welcome to the business - along with existing colleagues in the corporate lending team - have an amazing opportunity to make a real difference to clients in Birmingham and beyond.”
