Shawbrook appoints new Commercial Director
Shawbrook Bank has announced the appointment of a Commercial Director role within the Bank’s Property Division.
New Commercial Director Jeremey Law will have a number of responsibilities at Shawbrook, but his core focus will be helping with business planning and development of the overall IT and digital strategy.
Law joins Shawbrook from the Post Office’s financial services division, and prior to this holds more than a decade of experience in Retail Banking and specialist lending. He has worked in a number of building societies and spent 10 years at Barclays occupying senior roles across product, marketing and distribution. He also spent time working in the Barclays African division.
When asked on his reasons for joining Shawbrook, Law commented:
“Following the financial crisis a decade ago there are still a number of underserved markets where customers need to be supported. I really believe in specialist lending in the UK and unlike some larger institutions, Shawbrook really works hard for their customers to deliver a positive experience across all their markets. I look forward to getting under the skin of such a fantastic business to help bolster the next phase in our growth”.
Deputy CEO and Managing Director for Shawbrook Property Finance, Stephen Johnson adds:
“We are delighted to welcome someone of Jeremy’s calibre to the team where his expertise will help support our growth plans moving forward. Our emphasis on personal, case-by-case lending remains a key focus but it is important to ensure our IT and digital strategies are best placed to complement this. This role will be a key driver of transformational activity designed to improve the broker and customer experience, as well as our ability to respond to new opportunities, and I look forward to accelerating with Jeremy’s experience and insight.”
