The investment trust promotion which was launched on the 5th September 2011 has proved very popular with Alliance Trust Savings customers, which has led to the extension.

The i.nvest platform has seen strong growth over the past year with gross inflows into investment trusts up by 57% from 5 September 2011 to 14 October 2011 in comparison with the same period last year based on the behaviour of Alliance Trust Savings customers. Investment trusts can be purchased and held within the provider's ISAs, SIPPs and dealing accounts.

Malcolm Dodds, head of investment services at Alliance Trust savings said:

"The investment trusts promotion has been a tremendous success, as customers recognise the opportunity to take advantage of some of the best dealing prices in the market today.

"Our customers continue to show a real appetite for investment trusts and the special offer terms currently available and this is reflected in the significant rise we have seen in gross inflows. There has never been a better time to buy investment trusts."
