LSL FS has appointed Robert Sinclair as a non-executive director, adding one of the mortgage intermediary market's most experienced figures to its board.
Sinclair spent 13 years as chief executive of the Association of Mortgage Intermediaries, from 2012 until March 2025. During that time, he played a central role in establishing AMI as an independent organisation, overseeing its regulatory engagement, policy development, member services, and media relations.
Beyond AMI, he has held non-executive positions at Darlington Building Society and Buckinghamshire Building Society, serving on audit, risk, remuneration, and nomination committees.
In his new role, Sinclair will support the LSL FS board across its group businesses, which include Primis, TMA, and Linear. His responsibilities cover strategic guidance and constructive challenge to the executive team, governance and risk management, and contributing to the group's culture, values, and stakeholder engagement.
He will also work with the board to ensure the group keeps pace with changing regulatory expectations and the evolving needs of advisers and customers.
Sinclair (pictured) said: "LSL FS works with some of the most significant brands and voices within the intermediary market.
"I am pleased to be joining the Board at such an important time for our industry. Having spent many years working closely with intermediaries, lenders, regulators and policymakers, I look forward to bringing that experience to bear and supporting the continued growth and long-term development of the business.
"The market is evolving, and LSL FS and the businesses within the group are well placed to respond to changing regulatory expectations and customer needs while continuing to deliver the best possible outcomes for advisers and their customers."
Darrell Evans, chair at LSL FS, said Sinclair's depth of knowledge made him a natural fit for the board. "Robert brings extensive knowledge of the intermediary and mortgage market, together with 30 years of experience across governance, regulation and stakeholder engagement," he said.
"His insight and understanding of our industry will be a valuable addition to the Board as we continue to focus on delivering long-term sustainable growth and supporting advisers and customers across our firms and networks."
