The Academy will be working with Legal & General to help develop and shape the equity release materials available to its members.
L&G will also have a significant input into the LLA’s corporate thinking and the ongoing development of the overall proposition, as well as helping to define future content.
Stuart Wilson, Managing Partner at the Later Life Academy, said:
“The number of Academy Ambassadors now on board continues to grow and the addition of a ‘big hitter’ such as Legal & General is a huge coup for us. To have such an established and respected product provider in place means we can continue to develop the proposition in both the training and resources we offer to members, but also the commercial opportunities that exist in the later life space.
“We’re already working closely with the team at Legal & General in terms of its equity release expertise, but its input will also cover other aspects of retirement. The focus for the Academy remains on raising standards within later life advice, recognising the growth that is required from both an individual adviser and firm level, and ensuring we can also deliver real commercial incentives."
Steve Ellis, Chief Operating Officer of Legal & General Home Finance, commented:
“Legal & General’s focus is to continue to drive better value in/at retirement products for customers during their retirement journey. We see that advisers play a key part in helping clients utilise their assets to develop income streams throughout their journey through retirement, and are delighted to support an initiative that increases awareness and develops the retirement advice market.”
