To gain membership, its advisers have been vetted to ensure they meet The Council’s rigorous standards. Members must abide by The Council’s Code of Conduct which ensures consumers can have confidence in the advice and information they receive and the products they select.
“Membership shows the commitment of Just Retirement Solutions’ advisers to operating at the highest standards in the industry,” said Stephen Lowe, group director of external affairs and customer insight at Just Retirement.
“We are delighted to have been accepted as members because we support the Equity Release Council’s objectives of underpinning confidence and helping to grow the market. The decision to create The Council and expanding the membership from providers to also include intermediaries and other stakeholders was a bold step that is enabling it to act as a true trade body for the industry and we are keen to be part of its exciting development.”
Just Retirement Solutions was launched in 2006 to expand the amount of advice available in the growing equity release market. It works with introducers and other partners, operating as a direct-to-consumer service advising on equity release mortgages across a panel of leading product providers. Its sister company, Just Retirement Ltd is the second largest provider of equity release mortgages and has been a longstanding member of Safe Home Income Plans and its successor, the Equity Release Council.
Andrea Rozario, director general of the Equity Release Council, welcomed membership of Just Retirement Solutions.
“It is important to our objective of representing the entire equity release sector that intermediaries add their knowledge and experience,” she said.
“This is a sector of financial services where it is crucial that consumers receive outstanding advice that they can depend on. People who receive advice from our members can have that confidence.”
