The sessions cater for advisers wanting to increase their understanding of equity release and will include discussions on the forthcoming pension changes and how they might impact the sector, as well as advice on providing a fuller later life advice service in the new environment.
Attendees will also be able to ask any legal, regulatory and consumer questions of the assembled panel.
Chairing the debate will be Chris Prior of Bridgewater, with Peter Barton of Ashford’s Solicitors, Stuart Wilson of the Later Life Academy/Equity Release Club and Donna Bathgate of the Equity Release Council also taking questions.
The first will be held in the South at Ashford’s Solicitors, 1 New Fetter Lane, London EC4A 1AN on Tuesday 17th March. The event begins at 10am for coffee and registration with the ‘around the table’ session starting at 10.30am and finishing at 12.30, followed by lunch and the opportunity for further networking.
Further ‘around the table’ events will take place in Liverpool on the 21st April and Cheltenham on the 12th May.
Chris Prior, Manager, Sales and Distribution at Bridgewater Equity Release, commented:
“Last year our ‘around the table’ events were a very successful addition to the Bridgewater calendar and we found that attendees enjoyed, and got a lot out of, the format. In the first half of this year we will be heading off across the country again starting in London, before moving on to Liverpool and Cheltenham.
"Our assembled experts cover a whole range of sectors and the session provides advisers with an opportunity to ask them a range of questions in an informal setting. Our aim here is to bring together local advisers with their peers and to give them access to specialists in their field who can provide support and information across a wide variety of areas.
"This is an opportunity to share best practice and to develop new and existing strategies to increase business levels, enhance service and add additional income streams. We are looking forward to seeing advisers at our three events over the course of the next few months and would urge all those interested to secure their place now, as there is limited availability.”
