UnderwriteMe rolls out protection platform to L&C advisers
Following a trial of UnderwriteMe’s protection platform, London and Country has now trained all its 450 mortgage advisers to use the system.

L&C joins LifeSearch, Assured Futures, Future Proof and Cura in adopting UnderwriteMe’s platform, which has recently incorporated Defaqto product data and a faster and more intuitive underwriting journey.
The protection platform is free to use for UK financial intermediaries and offers a range of critical illness, life and income protection from Aegon, AIG, Canada Life, HSBC Life, LV=, Old Mutual Wealth, Royal London, Scottish Widows, and The Exeter.
Lucy Brown, head of protection sales at L&C, commented: “We are committed to offering our customers not only a first class mortgage service, but also full and effective advice on their protection needs.
"The ability to quote, underwrite and ultimately apply for multiple products across the majority of major insurers on one simple platform is unique to the protection platform. It’s an innovation we’ve been excited to see develop and we’ve been keen to roll out to our advisers who’ve reacted positively to the system.”
Phil Jeynes, head of sales and marketing at UnderwriteMe, said: “UnderwriteMe has had a long association with L&C and know them to be among the best when it comes to giving their customers protection advice alongside a mortgage. Their adoption of our protection platform is yet more validation that we’ve built a system which meets the needs of advisers and customers.
"We now partner with all types of major distributors, from face to face advisers to direct to consumer brands - proof that good, digital technology can be tailored to meet the needs of all parties.”
