Practical Protection Podcast: The kids are alright
Hi everyone, in the previous episode of the Practical Protection Podcast I was joined by Matt Rann and we focused on schizophrenia, and what this might mean for your protection insurance options.

I bring you the finale of Season 5 and we have some very special guests; Grace, Theodore, Sophia, Alexander, Kaydee, Kara and Zachary. The Cura Kids! Ranging in age, from 4 to 12. One thing I have come to learn is that the average reading age in the uk is 9 years old, so we decided to put this to the test and see exactly what that average age understands.
This isn’t a long episode, but it produced some very interesting answers. None of our special guests were able to understand the technical jargon we used, though when we spoke about critical illness cover some of the kids did wonder about cancer.
There is of course only so much we can make the kids sit through without them wanting to go off and play in the nice weather, so I made sure that they knew how great they were being. They also played their part, and let me know exactly where us adults were going wrong when it came to the confusing wording.

We are back in September for Season 6 of the podcast. Knowing that the podcast has been a useful resource for advisers is great, I even spoke with a compliance consultant recently who said that she’d heard of me because one of the firms she takes care of uses us for their IDD CPD.
Don’t forget to claim your CPD certificate once you have listened to this episode at https://practical-protection.co.uk/claim-your-cpd/.
Our certificates are accredited by CPD UK, through our sponsor Octo Members.
Please don’t worry if your work systems are not keen on the CPD form (it’s a Google form). Contact me on social media or through the website and I will be able to issue the certificate directly to you.
