Practical Protection Podcast: Eating disorders
Hi everyone, I was joined by Matt Rann for the previous episode of the Practical Protection Podcast, where we focused on cervical cancer. We spoke about some of the common causes, the questions an insurer might ask and some of the potential insurance outcomes. It’s definitely worth a listen, if you haven’t heard it already.
"It can be quite a sensitive topic to discuss, so knowing how to approach these questions and conversations with your clients is incredibly important."
Matt Rann is back with me again and we’re discussing eating disorders. Eating disorders is quite an umbrella term, with a number of health conditions coming under it, we have tried to cover as many as we can in this episode, to give you as much information as possible.
When applying for protection insurance with an eating disorder, you are more than likely going to see mental health questions being asked. It can be quite a sensitive topic to discuss, so knowing how to approach these questions and conversations with your clients is incredibly important.
We also discuss a case study of a man accessing insurance after living with bulimia.

Next time I have Roy McLoughlin and Kevin Carr joining me and we are going to be talking about public relations and insurance. We will be talking about negative news stories, the role of PR in improving our industry and our companies, awards, and the biggest problems that our sector is facing right now.
Don’t forget to claim your CPD certificate once you have listened to this episode: https://practical-protection.co.uk/claim-your-cpd/.
