Practical Protection Podcast: Consumer Duty
Hi everyone. The last episode of the Practical Protection Podcast was an inbetweenysode. Roy and I were joined by a special guest to talk about employee well being, communication and storytelling. It’s definitely worth a listen!

For this episode, I’m joined by Alain Desmier from Contact state. Alain has had many years of working within advertising and marketing, and has run two lead generation companies too. He now focuses his time on consumer consent.
During this episode, we talk about a number of things including fraudulent calls, the need for consumers to give their consent for their data to be used and the FCA Consumer Duty Principle. Alain shares some of his insights too.
Did you know that there are half a million cold calls each day? It’s become so easy to buy leads now, but that doesn’t mean it’s the right way to go about things, and using a consumer's data in ways which they aren’t aware of doesn’t sit right with us either.
There are many lead generators that are doing things the right way, and the FCA Consumer Duty principle will make sure that those which aren’t legitimate are brought to light. It’s the responsibility of all parties in the protection insurance industry to step up and do their part in illuminating fraudulent leads.

Matt Rann is joining me for the next episode, to discuss high cholesterol and the role it plays in protection insurance applications.
