Movera appoints director of professional standards
Recruitment is underway for a number of new roles, including within Movera’s financial crime, advisory, client care and technical support functions.
Home moving group, Movera, has appointed Glen Walker as its new director of professional standards.
Glen brings over two decades of experience in client-facing and risk-focused roles, having worked across both large financial institutions and specialist firms.
The company says it is strengthening its commitment to quality, compliance and risk management and Glen's appointment marks a key step in its strategy to "further mature its approach to professional standards and embed a proactive, business-wide risk culture".
In his first 100 days, Glen has already introduced a new risk management framework, implemented a new platform, and begun a full reshaping of the professional standards function to support Movera’s growth plans.
As part of his long-term vision, Glen is now expanding the professional standards team. Recruitment is underway for a number of new roles, including within Movera’s financial crime, advisory, client care and technical support functions.
Glen commented: “Movera is a business that’s genuinely open to change and improvement, which was one of the main reasons I joined. The culture here is collaborative, fast-paced and ready to embrace new ways of thinking. Professional standards is about more than compliance—it’s about setting the tone for how a business operates and supports its people and clients.
“We’re building a structure that’s fit for the future: clear roles, strong governance, smart use of technology, and a team that can scale with the business. I’m excited about what we can deliver—not just in terms of managing risk, but helping the business perform at its best.”
Craig Underwood, group chief operating officer at Movera, added: “Glen’s appointment is a significant step forward for us. He brings not only deep technical knowledge but a leadership style that’s grounded, people-focused and future-ready. The work he’s doing to build out the team and bring professional standards to life across the business will support our long-term growth and create exciting development opportunities for talent across Movera.”
