Mortgage Brain upgrades Nationwide integration to enhance broker journey
The tech firm says its latest enhancement will give brokers a clearer, more editable record of each case as it develops.
Mortgage Brain has released a new update to Submissions Brain, enhancing its Nationwide integration to give brokers greater flexibility and control across the decision in principle (DIP) and product reservation journey.
The release focuses on giving brokers more say over when and how a Nationwide case progresses, rather than having key steps triggered automatically.
Brokers can now reprocess an existing Nationwide DIP and resubmit it for a new lending decision without starting the application from scratch. Brokers can also choose when a case moves on to the Nationwide For Intermediaries platform or when a product is reserved.
In addition, additional data fields have been added to the DIP journey, reducing the amount of information brokers need to re-enter later in the Nationwide For Intermediaries platform.
Finally, the enhancement will deliver additional DIP features – such as support for Nationwide's Helping Hand scheme, now built into the DIP journey within Submissions Brain.
Mortgage Brain is also working on a digital full mortgage application for Nationwide, planned for launch before the end of the year, which will allow an approved Nationwide DIP to progress directly into a full application without re-entering data already captured.
The changes sit within Submissions Brain's wider re-DIP functionality, which lets brokers copy an existing DIP and submit it to a different lender, or resubmit to the same one, with every copied field fully editable and the DIP dashboard linking original and copied submissions for a clear audit trail. Cutting out duplicate entry and switching between systems saves brokers an average of 30 minutes per case.
Jim Quinton, senior manager for partnerships at Nationwide, said: “We're always looking at how we can make the mortgage journey smoother for brokers, and these enhancements to Submissions Brain do exactly that. Giving brokers the ability to reprocess a DIP rather than start again, and greater control over when a case moves into Nationwide For Intermediaries or when a product is reserved, means less repetition and fewer delays when small details change. It’s a great example of what can be achieved when we work in partnership with Mortgage Brain.”
Neil Wyatt, chief commercial officer at Mortgage Brain, added: "This is exactly why Mortgage Brain exists — to create technology that makes life easier for brokers. Cases used to move forward automatically the moment a Nationwide decision came back, whether the broker was ready or not. Now they can reprocess a DIP instead of starting again, decide when to hand a case over to Nationwide For Intermediaries, and reserve the product at the right moment for their customer. That's about giving brokers back genuine power and control over their own journey, with the tech connected behind the scenes so the process feels as seamless as possible. And like everything we build, it's come directly from feedback from brokers and lenders. We create technology for the mortgage industry that's fully informed by the industry."
