Equity release qualification set for New Year overhaul
The London Institute of Banking and Finance has announced a full redesign of its equity release qualification syllabus, coming into effect for students sitting the exam after 6th January 2020.
"It is unclear how much the CeRER syllabus will change in this in-depth revision, and whether it will have an effect on the length and structure of our current training courses"
The Certificate in Regulated Equity Release (CeRER) overhaul will include both content and layout changes, but the specifics of the updates are still to be confirmed.
The LIBF also anticipates a further syllabus update in April to incorporate any changes due to the Budget and Brexit.
Financial training company, Simply Academy, says it has seen a spike in enquiries from those already CeMAP qualified wishing to study and pass CeRER before the 6th January.
To assist more advisers wishing to pass before the New Year, Simply Academy has added additional workshops at its London, Birmingham and Manchester training venues to accommodate the increase in numbers.
Peter Lingley, chief operating officer of Simply Academy, commented: "It is unclear how much the CeRER syllabus will change in this in-depth revision, and whether it will have an effect on the length and structure of our current training courses, but we are happy to help those advisers looking to become qualified before the updates come into effect by adding additional training courses to our provision."
