30 Under 30

The first crop of Financial Reporter 30 Under 30 listees – chosen as exceptional examples of young people making their mark on the industry in their early careers – has been named.

The programme, which launched earlier this year and is supported by Working in Mortgages, the Association of Mortgage Intermediaries and the Intermediary Mortgage Lenders Association, is designed to spotlight future leaders of the industry from across various sectors in order.

Hundreds of entrants from a number of sectors took part – including lending, advice, conveyancing, and tech – showcasing the variety of routes to the market and career trajectories taken by those working in the mortgage advice community. The expert panel, made up of established industry leaders, were asked to take into account entrants’ impact, innovation, leadership potential, and industry contribution so far in order to create a list of thirty names.

The campaign will culminate in a brand-new in-person event in central London on 27th February 2026; Under 30 Live, a half-day conference and networking experience for the next generation of mortgage and financial services professionals. The event is designed to bring young talent, their peers and supporters together for connection, inspiration and insight into the future of the industry. Additionally, those named on the list will be given a platform to showcase their achievements, share their story with the wider industry throughout the year, and have the opportunity to work with Working in Mortgages’ mentoring scheme to further boost their career progress.

You can view the full list of 2025’s 30 Under 30 here. Financial Reporter’s full 'Under 30' events programme will be released in the coming weeks, with events throughout 2026 which will be open to those in management and working with up-and-coming talent, as well as exclusive events for under-30s in the industry and this year’s list.

Andy Shields, director at Financial Reporter's parent company Barcadia Media, said: “We knew that there were plenty of talented and hardworking people making waves in the industry when we launched this initiative – in fact, it’s why we launched it. But it has been really impressive to see the breadth of driven, successful young people across the industry putting themselves forward and we’re very proud to name our inaugural 30 Under 30 List.

“This is really just the start of an ongoing platform for our thirty names – we want to give them space to talk about the successes and challenges of being a young person in the industry, give them opportunities to learn from, be mentored by and network with those who have plenty of knowledge and experience to share, and, through this, encourage other young people to kickstart their own careers in mortgages and financial advice.”

Nicola Goldie, chair of Working in Mortgages, commented: “The response to the 30 Under 30 initiative has been absolutely fantastic. We’ve seen a wave of nominations from across the industry, and it’s clear we have some truly outstanding under-30s making a real impact in their early careers. As chair of Working in Mortgages, I’m proud to support a programme that not only celebrates emerging talent but also provides the tools and connections to help them thrive. These individuals represent the future of our industry — and it’s a future full of innovation, energy, and promise.”
