HTB appoints development finance BDM for the North
Josh previously held relationship management and underwriting roles in the development finance team.

Hampshire Trust Bank has promoted Josh Swaby to business development manager for the North of England within its development finance team.
In his new role, Josh will be responsible for building broker relationships, raising awareness with developers, as well as supporting the bank’s existing brokers, within northern England.
Born and raised in Yorkshire, Josh has a strong background in property. He joined HTB from the commercial team of a large high-street lender in 2022 and has since held relationship management and underwriting roles in the development finance team.
Josh Swaby said: “As a ‘born and bred’ Yorkshireman, I'm proud to be given this opportunity to expand the Bank’s presence in the North.
“It goes without saying that I have had the pleasure of working with some of the best in the industry. I'm looking forward to supporting our fantastic development finance team, regional housebuilders and brokers in the north and demonstrating our commitment to the fantastic towns, cities and beyond that make this area so special.”
Scott Apps, head of distribution for development finance at HTB, added: “Ever since he joined HTB, Josh has shown his enthusiasm for ‘tough’ development finance cases as well as the knowledge and capability to find solutions. He is all about turning those tricky applications into solid completions and more importantly, providing certainty to brokers and their clients. We truly believe that Josh will provide the support and technical know-how to help our clients and intermediary partners in the North thrive with HTB.
“We continue to have a real appetite for development projects nationwide, and Josh will ensure that brokers and clients in the north continue to receive the top-notch service they deserve in the development finance space.”
