Gen H adds two new hires to its growth team
The new hires will help to boost the lender's broker and marketing functions.

Gen H has appointed Jess Bateson and Olivia Sturla to its growth team, which includes its sales and marketing functions. Bateson joins as head of growth on a one-year contract, covering for Leanne Sarjant during her maternity leave. Sturla takes on a permanent role as broker specialist within the lender’s broker team.
Bateson brings experience from fintech mortgage broker Koodoo, where she worked as commercial and operations director. Her role there included overseeing partnerships, mortgage advice operations, and marketing. Prior to that, she spent eight years working in derivatives trading at Goldman Sachs.
Sturla joins the firm with a background in consultancy and mortgage advice, having worked at Hamptons, Capital Private Finance, and Alexander Hall. Her experience advising clients and supporting brokerage functions positions her to deliver targeted support for Gen H’s broker panel.
Gen H said its broker team continues to deliver efficient and responsive service. The lender reports an average phone wait time of approximately two minutes, a missed call rate of 8.2%, and a same-day callback rate of 100%.
After becoming an intermediary-only lender in early 2024, Gen H has made investments across its systems and broker support teams. The firm recently received the Best Lender for Technology award at the Mortgage Strategy Awards for the second year running.
Leanne Sarjant, outgoing head of growth, commented: “As I step away from the business for a year, I couldn’t be more delighted to welcome Jess and Olivia into our ranks. I am confident in our team’s ability to continue delivering best-in-class service, whether a broker has used us before or they’re just trying us out.
“Gen H are developing a completely new approach to mortgage lending, and with the support of our outstanding broker panel – now 22,000+ strong – we’re having the impact we’ve always dreamed of: helping thousands of people realise their dreams of homeownership.”
