He will be joined by Nigel Stockton, Financial Services Director, who is raising money for Shelter, the UK's leading charity helping with homelessness and housing problems.
This will be Nigel’s 9th marathon, and second New York marathon, after previously completing others in Rome, Chicago, London, Berlin, Tokyo, Miami and London.
In addition to ongoing charity fundraising amongst Countrywide employees and across branches, the Countrywide Group also participate in the ‘Give as you Earn’ workplace giving scheme, and in his pledge to raise as much money as possible for the charities, Grenville Turner has even offered one lucky employee that signs up to the scheme an all expenses paid trip for two to New York, inclusive of flights, hotel and spending money!
Nigel, who only took up running after his 40th birthday, comments:
“Even though Grenville and I have both completed marathons before, it is still an exciting challenge and we are both looking forward to participating in the event to support two great charities and the amazing work that they do.
“We’ve both been training most weekends, with additional runs squeezed in before and after work, so hopefully New York won’t be too cold in November and all the hard work will pay off when it comes to the big event!”
Those wishing to support Grenville Tuner and Nigel Stockton‘s efforts can donate to Shelter and Cancer Research UK here.
