Cynergy Bank appoints relationship director for origination
Michael brings over 12 years of experience in financial services to Yorkshire and the North East.
Cynergy Bank has appointed Michael Devanny as a relationship director for origination. Based in the North of England, Devanny will lead real estate lending origination across Yorkshire and the North East, focused on supporting property investors, developers and entrepreneurial businesses with structured secured lending solutions.
Cynergy says the appointment reflects its commitment to investing in regional markets and broadening its lending footprint beyond London and the South East.
Devanny brings more than 12 years of experience in UK financial services. Over the past four years alone, he has facilitated more than £300m of property lending across a broad range of asset classes and transaction structures. Prior to joining Cynergy Bank, Devanny held origination roles at Together and Bank of China.
Michael Devanny said: "For me, property lending has always been a relationship business – it is about understanding not just the asset, but the people and strategy behind it. What really attracted me to Cynergy Bank was the culture, the strength of the team and a genuinely flexible, innovative approach to lending. There is a significant opportunity across Yorkshire and the North-East, and Cynergy Bank's decision to invest in the region reflects a clear commitment to supporting property investors, entrepreneurs and businesses despite the challenges we have seen in recent years. In a market where certainty and speed of execution matter, I look forward to building strong relationships and helping clients unlock opportunities."
Andrew Horner, executive director for the North & Midlands at Cynergy Bank, added: "Michael's appointment is a significant step in the Bank’s ambition to deepen our presence in regional real estate lending markets. His extensive experience, his relationships across the North and his commitment to a client-first approach make him an excellent addition to the Cynergy Bank team. We look forward to supporting more property investors, developers and businesses in Yorkshire and the North-East as we continue to execute on our long-term strategy."
