Commercial broker seeks expansion with hires from RBS and Barclays
Empire Commercial Finance has expanded its senior team with two new appointments as it seeks "aggressive growth" in 2019.
The commercial mortgage broker has appointed Martin Johnson as a senior corporate director to help the firm's expansion in the North West and London.
Martin has 25 years experience in the industry and was previously a senior relationship manager in the corporate banking team of RBS
He specialised in working with companies with a range in turnover from £2.5m-£50m, complex banking arrangements and loans in excess of £1m.
Empire has also hired Scott Monks to advise international clients from the UK, with a particular focus on Russia, Asia and the UAE.
Scott previously spent 15 years at Barclays, most recently as vice president in its Global Overseas Corporates division.
Scott holds a business and finance degree and also has 'chartered banking status' and a foundation degree in corporate banking.
During his time In Jersey, Scott had AUM of £1bn and looked after large international corporates with a particular focus on the Russian and Middle East Markets.
Empire says it has further broker hires planned for Q3.
