Cammy Amaira returns to Family BS in intermediary expansion
Family Building Society has enhanced its intermediary proposition with three new appointments.

Cammy Amaira has re-joined as head of distribution strategy. He was previously head of intermediary sales at the Society, joining soon after its launch in 2014. He left in 2018 having been instrumental in setting up the Society’s expanded intermediary network.
At the same time, the Society has promoted Daren Deacon to head of intermediary sales and Paul Roberts to senior account director.
Cammy Amaira said: “I am truly excited to be coming ‘back home’ and joining the Society as it continues its mission helping under-served borrowers with innovative products and real, human touch underwriting. This is particularly relevant for those ‘difficult to place’ cases, where the applicant’s story differs from the norm and where intermediaries often struggle to find a lender willing to listen or able to lend.
“I have great memories of my previous time at the Society and have watched its significant growth from afar. I especially look forward to renewing my relationship with my many industry friends and colleagues.”
Keith Barber, director of business development, added: “I congratulate Darren and Paul on their promotions, recognising the significant contribution they make to the intermediary team and the service that we provide to brokers. 2022 and beyond promises to be a period of challenging and significant growth for the Society. Welcoming a well-known industry stalwart such as Cammy back in the ‘family’ to work alongside Paul and Darren underlines our commitment to delivering the products and criteria that intermediaries want from us.”
