28 building societies collaborate for digital broker event

Following the success of the Building Societies Show earlier this year, 28 building societies have joined forces to launch The Society Sessions — a new digital event series for brokers.

Taking place across three days in July, the six live sessions will give brokers the opportunity to hear from representatives across the sector as they showcase their latest propositions, lending criteria, product highlights and the support available to intermediaries.

Each session will feature presentations from four or five building societies, with every participating society given approximately 10 minutes to introduce their proposition, explain the types of cases they are best placed to support and answer questions from attendees.

The sessions have been designed to offer brokers flexibility, allowing them to register for individual sessions or attend multiple events depending on their interests and availability, while earning CPD along the way.

The initiative was created following feedback from brokers who were unable to attend the Building Societies Show earlier this year or didn’t manage to meet every participating society during the event.

Participating societies include: Accord Mortgages, Bath, Beverley, Buckinghamshire, Chorley, Earl Shilton, Family, Furness, Hanley Economic, Hinckley & Rugby, Leek, Loughborough, Mansfield, Market Harborough, Marsden, Newbury, Nottingham, Penrith, Principality, Saffron, Scottish, Stafford, Suffolk, Teachers, The Cumberland, Tipton & Coseley, Vernon, and West Bromwich.

Dave Jackson, national account manager at Hinckley & Rugby for Intermediaries, said: "Following the Building Societies Show earlier this year, I spent time meeting with brokers across the country, and a common theme quickly emerged. Some brokers were unable to attend because of diary commitments or travel, while others who did attend simply didn't have enough time to speak to every society they wanted to meet.

"The Society Sessions gives brokers an easy and accessible way to hear directly from a wide range of building societies, understand what each specialises in and the types of client scenarios they can support.

"The mutual sector is built on collaboration and supporting communities, so bringing 28 building societies together for these unique digital events feels like a natural extension of that approach."
