George Visser joins 365 Finance as chief risk officer
Visser joins from Bayport Financial Services Group after 11 years with the business.
Specialist SME lender 365 Finance has appointed George Visser as its new chief risk officer as the business continues to expand its lending operations across the UK and Ireland.
Visser joins 365 Finance following an 11-year career at Bayport Financial Services Group, where he progressed from financial modeller to head of commercial analytics and subsequently group credit executive.
In his new role, Visser will lead 365 Finance’s risk function, with responsibility for credit risk strategy, portfolio and impairment modelling, and underwriting policy.
His role will include ensuring the lender maintains a responsible approach to lending as it scales its operations.
365 Finance provides SMEs across the UK and Ireland with merchant cash advance solutions, offering same-day funding of between £10,000 and £500,000.
Warren Abbey, CEO at 365 Finance, said: “George is a brilliant addition to the team, and his appointment comes at a great time. 365 Finance continues to scale, and that is only possible with talented, hard-working people – George more than ticks those boxes, and he is already playing a hugely important role in bolstering our risk function, which in turn supports us on our mission to deliver the fast, flexible finance that so many SMEs rely on.”
George Visser, chief risk officer at 365 Finance (pictured), added: “I’m really excited to have joined 365 Finance. SMEs are the backbone of the economy, and every business we fund is someone’s livelihood. So, getting the risk assessment right matters just as much as getting the decision fast, and I am relishing my role, which is all about ensuring we lend responsibly while still providing vital – and fast – financial support to SMEs across the UK and Ireland.”
