The Financial Reporter Awards (FRAs) celebrates so many incredible individuals and businesses every year. But what makes it the award you want to win? Our previous winners share their thoughts...

As you work on your applications for the Financial Reporter Awards 2026, we're looking at what can happen when you're named the very best in your field and what makes winning an FRA so special.

"It was a huge achievement for the whole team at L&C to see all of our hard work and commitment recognised," said Lisa Parker about L&C Mortgages winning Mortgage Broker of the Year (50+ employees) at last year's awards. "The Financial Reporter Awards are uniquely voted for by brokers, so it really represents the voice of this part of the industry. It's such an exciting, fun-packed event, we can't wait for it to come round again!"

"Everything we do at L&C, we do as a team, so winning this award has been an amazing boost for all of us," she added. "Our industry can be incredible challenging, and it's so important to have a chance to take stock of all the hard work we put in every day. This award definitely allowed us to do just that."

Meanwhile, Jodie Andrews from One Mortgage System, winner of Technology Provider of the Year in 2025, described the victory as "such an honour and incredibly validating."

"There is something very special about being voted for by your own clients who use the system every day," she said. "We always have a lot of fun at the awards and the fact that the finalists are based on votes from the industry is what makes it such an honour to win."

The Brokers' Vote was also a highlight for Kate Fuller, Adviser of the Year winner 2025: "As the winners are decided by industry vote, having the support of colleagues really means a lot.

"It has enabled me to share this win loud and proud, and boosted my own confidence in the job!" she continued.
