Finalists announced for the Financial Reporter Women’s Recognition Awards
Financial Reporter has today announced the list of finalists for its first Women’s Recognition Awards.
"To say the response to the Women’s Recognition Awards has been amazing would be an understatement - we’ve been overwhelmed by the number and range of nominations. "
The awards programme aims to be a part of positive change in financial services by recognising the women who are succeeding and creating a path for an industry where hard work merits success, regardless of gender. With hundreds of applications from women at all stages of their careers, the response has been overwhelmingly positive - and the eight expert judges chosen to select the finalists were faced with the difficult task of narrowing down the nominations.
Three individuals - or, in the case of the Equality Employer of the Year category, businesses - have been named as finalists in each category. The categories recognise women's achievement in particular fields such as mortgages and specialist lending, alongside new adviser-focused categories.
Financial Reporter's parent company, Barcadia Media, recently became the first financial services media publication to join the HM Treasury’s Women in Finance Charter, prompting the introduction of the Women’s Recognition Awards. The awards are sponsored by Atom Bank, Barclays, Mortgage Advice Bureau, mtf, Shawbrook Bank, and Twenty7Tec.
Winners will be revealed at a Winners’ Party at the opulent Roundhouse in Camden on September 20th 2018, with a champagne reception and an array of surprises thrown in as the industry comes together to celebrate its talented and inspiring women.

Amy Loddington, Barcadia Media’s Communications Director, said: “To say the response to the Women’s Recognition Awards has been amazing would be an understatement - we’ve been overwhelmed by the number and range of nominations. Reading the achievements and stories of women in the industry has reinforced why we launched these awards and we’re so excited to be able to shine a light on some of the incredible people in financial services.
“A huge thank you must go to our sponsors and judges for their support - we couldn’t have done it without them and it reaffirms our belief that there is real enthusiasm for positive change in the industry when it comes to gender equality. We’re looking forward to welcoming everybody to our awards party in September and handing out the first trophies to our deserving winners!”
