Barclays' GlobalAccess range now available through two platforms
Barclays has today announced that its GlobalAccess range is now available to intermediaries for the first time through AXA Wealth's Elevate platform and Ascentric.
Advisers can access the 16 investment solutions as single components, enabling them to build their own portfolios to meet their clients' individual needs. Alternatively, by investing through Barclays five Discretionary Management Portfolios with varying levels of risk, investors can gain exposure to a number of the GlobalAccess funds
The range, which is subject to a minimum investment of £1,000, has not previously been available to the retail market and is developed through a blend of world leading investment managers, from long established fund managers, including institutional managers, to smaller ‘specialist' boutiques.
Oliver Gregson, Director, Investment Management at Barclays said:
"The highly rated GlobalAccess range, as evidenced by Morningstar, offers intermediaries the chance to leverage Barclays significant experience and scale in manager selection and multi-manager investing. With the right blend of funds, we are able to offer investors the benefits of diversification, whilst aiming to achieve more consistent returns with less volatility."
Gregson continued: "The 16 funds, covering both equity and fixed income, have been developed through a rigorous manager selection and due diligence process, giving investor's unparalleled access to ‘best of breed' managers, usually only available to large scale institutional investors. The GlobalAccess range has a strong track record, with all of the funds out-performing their benchmarks over the past three years and the Global High Yield Bond fund winning a Lipper award for the second consecutive year for its three year performance."
Bryan Parkinson, Director, Intermediary Sales at Barclays, added:
"The GlobalAccess range has further enhanced Barclays offering to the intermediary market as the demand for outsourcing, as well as the desire to build ‘best in class' client portfolios, increases. We are now able to offer intermediaries a diverse range of active and passive investment solutions, along with our market leading structured products.
"The GlobalAccess funds are currently available through AXA Wealth's Elevate platform and Ascentric, and our aim is to be on all the main platforms by the end of the year."
