Quilter has appointed Paul Canning in the new role of business development manager for London and the South East.

The new role is part of a revamped and regionally focused business development team, led by Graham Folley, Quilter’s head of business development and discretionary sales.

Paul Canning joins Quilter after 17 years at Abrdn where most recently he held the role of strategic relationship director. Canning has over 30 years’ experience in financial services having previously worked for Royal London, RSA and Aviva.

In his new role, Canning will be focused on building long-term strategic relationships with financial advisers. He will be responsible for providing support around regulatory and business challenges and helping firms to grow and run more efficiently.

Graham Folley, head of business development and discretionary sales, said: “We are extremely happy that Paul has decided to join Quilter where he will lead business development activities for the Quilter Platform in London and the South East.

“Paul brings with him a rich heritage of experience in the wrap and platform space and with numerous ringing endorsements from colleagues, advisers and industry professionals.
