LV= bolsters protection rehabilitation offering
LV= has expanded its protection team to help build and develop its early intervention services and ensure income protection claimants have all the help they need during their recovery to either stay in work or return to work.

The insurer has appointed Andrea Fields as Rehabilitation Manager to focus on helping individuals suffering from illness or injury with their recovery.
She will be responsible for coordinating access to treatment and liaising closely with the relevant services to ensure customers get the right support.
Andrea will also build on the insurer’s support for policyholders by ensuring staff have specialist training in mental health to deliver the right treatment and advice. In 2015, mental illness accounted for one in five (18%) of all new income protection claims at LV=.
Before joining LV=, Andrea worked at Aviva Health for 25 years in a variety of roles. Most recently she worked as Senior Rehabilitation Case Manager overseeing the design and delivery of vocational rehabilitation programmes to help people recover and get back to work as soon as possible. Prior to this, she worked at Abbey Life as a critical illness team manager providing support and continuity of care across a variety of portfolios.
Myles Rix, Managing Director for LV= Protection, commented: “At LV= we ensure all our income protection customers have support above and beyond the financial assistance their policy provides. In recent months, we’ve increased our investment in rehabilitation services and offer a wide range of practical treatment and support options for our customers. Andrea brings a wealth of experience, particularly in mental health, and will be a valuable addition to our growing protection team.”
Andrea Fields added: “I am delighted to join the rehabilitation team at LV=. I look forward to combining my skills as a Mental Health First Aid Instructor, with my strong industry experience, to help LV= deliver market-leading rehabilitation services that ensure clients receive vital care and support in their time of need.”
