“Business protection is a complex area of the market and through our research and benchmarking we are aiming to help advisers understand not only the features of the products available in the market but the support provided by the insurers themselves.
"Our ratings aim to help advisers understand the difference in offerings between insurers so that they can make better decisions when giving clients recommendations. Some clients will be looking for comprehensive options, others may be need economy solutions, there is a valid role for each in addressing the protection gap and look to make it easier for advisers to identify which products are suitable for different needs.”
Bridget Smith, Business Protection Development Manager at the Mortgage Advice Bureau, added:
“Business Protection and Relevant Life are products where an insurer’s technical support and service standards can make a real difference. A ratings system that can help advisers easily compare insurers based on the product options offered as well as the support services in place can really help advisers understand the differences in insurer propositions.”
