Mortgage Industry Mental Health Charter announces Thames Bridges Trek challenge
Participants will walk as part of Team MIMHC while raising awareness and funds for the Niall Stringer Foundation.

The Mortgage Industry Mental Health Charter (MIMHC) is calling on industry professionals to lace up their walking shoes for its latest initiative – the Thames Bridges Trek, taking place on Saturday 13th September 2025.
Organised by provider of walking and trekking events, Ultra Challenge, the Trek gives participants the opportunity to complete a 25km walk along the River Thames, from Putney to Southwark. A shorter 10km route from The Kia Oval to Southwark is also available for those seeking a more accessible option.
This one-day event follows the MIMHC Walk & Talk held in May and continues the Charter’s mission to foster mental health awareness, support peer connection, and encourage open conversations within the mortgage and property finance sectors.
Participants will walk as part of Team MIMHC, enjoying scenic views of the Thames and iconic London skyline, all while raising awareness and funds for the Niall Stringer Foundation.
William Lloyd-Hayward, COO of Brightstar and co-founder of MIMHC, said: "I took part in an Ultra Challenge back in 2022 and knew this format would be perfect for MIMHC. It’s inclusive, enjoyable, and powerful in its simplicity – bringing people together to walk, talk and support each other.”
Gareth Lewis, deputy CEO at MT Finance, who has also signed up, added: “This is another fantastic MIMHC initiative and a great chance to come together as an industry, support mental health, and raise vital funds – all against the backdrop of London’s stunning riverside.”
Teams from Brightstar, MT Finance, MortgageSoup, Movin Legal, MFS, Positive Lending, and Sirius Finance are already registered to take part, with more expected to join in the coming weeks.
Anyone interested in joining is encouraged to register by 20th August at https://mimhc.co.uk/thames-bridges-trek-2025-2/.
