Legal & General Surveying Services rebrands as Westmarq
Legal & General Surveying Services has rebranded as Westmarq, with the surveying business continuing to provide valuation and property risk services to mortgage lenders.
Legal & General Surveying Services has rebranded as Westmarq following a change in ownership in December 2025.
The surveying business, which has operated for more than 50 years, provides valuation, surveying and digital reporting services to mortgage lenders.
Westmarq manages around 376,000 valuations each year and employs more than 100 RICS qualified surveyors. It also manages a panel of third party surveying firms.
The company said the rebrand forms part of its growth plans, with further investment being made in technology, data and property intelligence alongside its existing surveying operations.
Its services include a Property Decision Engine, which is designed to help lenders determine the appropriate valuation route for individual cases, alongside data, audit and risk management capabilities.
The Westmarq identity is now being introduced across the company's communications and other points of contact, with the former Legal & General Surveying Services brand due to be fully retired by late October.
Richard Sexton, managing director of Westmarq, said: "Westmarq represents where we are going, rather than simply where we have been.
"We have a strong foundation of experienced surveyors, established lender relationships and deep technical expertise. We are doing is building on that foundation, combining it with better data, technology and a clear focus on the decisions our clients need to make
"Property lending is changing. The volume and quality of data available to lenders is increasing, technology is becoming more sophisticated and the properties being assessed are not always straightforward. The answer is not to choose between technology and expertise. It is to use both intelligently.
"That is what Westmarq stands for. We want to help lenders make better decisions, faster, while retaining the professional judgement and quality that complex lending requires."
