Steve Webb to join Royal London

Former pensions minister Steve Webb is set to take a "senior role" at Royal London, according to reports.

The Financial Times reported that Royal London will create a new role for Webb, who lost his his seat in this year's general election.

Webb was the longest serving pensions minister, and led the introduction of the pension freedoms policy during his five-year tenure.

Former shadow pensions minister Greg McClymont recently moved to Aberdeen Asset Management as head of retirement savings.
