Steve Webb and ex-FSA Director named in New Year Honours
Former Pensions Minister Steve Webb has received a knighthood in this year’s New Year’s Honours list.
Webb, who is now Director of Policy at Royal London, has been knighted for political and public service.
He was the longest serving pensions minister, and led the introduction of the pension freedoms policy during his five-year tenure, before joininh Royal London in 2015.
Charles Counsell, Executive Director of Automatic Enrolment at The Pensions Regulator, received an OBE for services to Workplace Pension Reform.
The Pensions Regulator actuary Andrew Young also received an OBE for services to Pension Policy and Pensioners.
Given OBEs for services to Financial Services were former FSA Director Sheila Nicoll, now Head of Public Policy at Schroders, and Imran Gulamhuseinwala, Global Lead for FinTech at Ernst and Young.
