Leeds BS appoints head of IT Risk from HSBC
Leeds Building Society has appointed a new lead for its IT Risk and Governance team.
"IT risk management helps build and maintain commitment with the business and assist in retaining control and demonstrating that goals are achieved."
Richard Dew has more than 25 years’ IT experience and joins the Society from HSBC, where he was Group Head of Infrastructure Security Risk, focusing on cyber security risks and how technology is secured.
Prior to this he held a number of senior IT operational roles both in the UK and overseas.
The key focus of Richard’s new role is to support the delivery of Society-wide IT strategic plans by embedding risk management as a core competence within IT, helping the business to understand its IT risks and informing investment decisions.
Richard Dew said: “This is a new appointment for Leeds Building Society, which allows us to embed IT risk management capability in a way which best supports our business.
“We will help expand the IT strategy and deliver the right outcomes for the business, drawing on existing expertise and experience.
“IT risk management helps build and maintain commitment with the business and assist in retaining control and demonstrating that goals are achieved.”
