Buckinghamshire BS appoints new CEO as Craddock joins Darlington

Buckinghamshire Building Society’s chief executive Andrew Craddock has announced he will leaving the firm after four years to join the Darlington Building Society as its new CEO.

Subject to regulatory approval, the Buckinghamshire has announced that Gerard O’Keeffe will replace Craddock as CEO.

Robin Bailey, chairman of the Buckinghamshire Building Society, commented: “Andrew has been a remarkable leader, developing the Bucks into a modern, successful and financially secure business and at the same time keeping our mutual ethos of putting our members at the forefront of what we do. We are extremely grateful for his efforts and the board and I wish Andrew all the best in his new role at the Darlington.

“We are delighted to have Gerard O’Keeffe joining us. He has over 30 years experience in financial services including 16 years at AIB in the UK in various positions, latterly as Head of Allied Irish Banks (GB), which included the retail, commercial and corporate banks. Gerard is joining us at an exciting time for the Society. We believe he will bring a new perspective to our business, and with his wealth of experience he and the team will take the Society to the next phase of its growth.”
