Blimey has become a very well known brand over the past 5 years with the business seeing substantial growth in the Secured Loan, Commercial Mortgage, Bridging and Development Finance markets.
The Blimey brand launched in 2010 into what was then a very different and difficult market, but with one of the first rules of marketing being ‘get noticed’, a stand out name was important.
The firm was one of the first Packagers to achieve full FCA authorisation for Consumer Credit business back in January and the directors feel that The Lending Channel name better reinforces a message of trust and clarity to both end user clients and introducers alike.
Director Alistair Ewing commented:
“The Blimey brand has constantly been remarked upon and debated and when you are small firm, this is great, but the feedback hasn’t always been 100% positive. As our business model has evolved and in particular with some of the higher net worth client markets we now operate in, we have found a bit more resistance. This mainly related to a potential perception that the brand was not serious enough and perhaps was getting likened to the Pay Day Loan market – which isn’t one we are involved in.”
