Andy Haldane reappointed to Monetary Policy Committee
Andrew Haldane has been reappointed as a member of the Monetary Policy Committee for a further three-year term.
Haldane is currently Executive Director for Monetary Analysis and Statistics and Chief Economist at the Bank of England.
He was first appointed to the MPC on 1 June 2014, with that initial term expiring on 31 May 2017.
The minutes of the next Monetary Policy Committee meeting are due to be published this Thursday.
Haldane has previously made headlines for claiming that he can't make "the remotest sense of pensions" and for arguing that property is a better investment for retirement than a pension.
