Adviser complaints drop 16% as Bank of Scotland tops FOS list
Bank of Scotland overtook Santander to receive the most complaints in the mortgages and home finance category in H2 2017, according to the Financial Ombudsman Service, which has today published its six-monthly complaints data.
Bank of Scotland received 559 new complaints over the period, followed by Santander with 520 and Barclays with 370.
Bank of Scotland, part of Lloyds Banking Group, also received the most new complaints over all categories, totalling 20,386.
The total number of complaints fell by 3% in H2, but complaints against advisers fell by 16%, down to 816 from 966 in H1 2017.
The number of complaints upheld against advisers also fell, down to 34% from 43% in H1.
Sesame continued to top the list of adviser complaints at 88, followed by St James's Place Wealth Management with 58.
Of the 165,406 new complaints received in H2, 92,231 were about PPI - an increase of 3%.
FOS says the number of consumer credit complaints also continued to increase - up 11% to 16,328 when compared to H1 2017.
