Why was winning a Financial Reporter Award important for Shawbrook?

We have worked with Financial Reporter for many years and find them to be among the most professional and credible in the industry. They have a huge amount of integrity surrounding their awards and across their journalism, which is important for us as a business, and gives us comfort that when investment is made and improvements are demonstrated, that this will be recognized and celebrated by peers and colleagues

What has changed for your business since 2017?

We continue to make investment in our teams and refine our structure to support a positive broker and customer journey across all our lending activity. This has been challenging within a turbulent market, but developing resource in the challenging times is a great way to ensure you create stable growth for the future.

What do you think has been the best development in the industry since 2017?

Whilst increasing regulation is often seen by some to be onerous and limiting from a business perspective, it is ultimately designed to protect the customer and the market. The regulatory change that we have seen over the past 18 months is designed to ensure sustainability for the long-term which is an idea that sits at the heart of our business, and one that is to be welcomed.

What advice would you give a business hoping to scoop an award this year?

Continuing to ask your customers for feedback on how you can grow and improve alongside them, is key to building a business and a culture that is worthy of recognition. It’s not easy but hugely rewarding when it happens – and it will happen!
