Countrywide Surveying appoints regional director
Countrywide Surveying Services has appointed Hugh Riley as regional director for the South West and South Wales.

Hugh will be responsible for implementing the overall strategy into the region whilst supporting CSS surveyors and delivering on client expectations.
He has worked in the property sector for over 30 years and joins CSS following 14 years as a senior regional surveyor at SDL Surveying. Prior to that he was an associate partner at Simmons & Sons estate agency and started his career as a negotiator at Woolwich Property Services.
He has long-standing experience in joint high valuation inspections (£3m+) and compliant high value process design, with a specialist interest in green mortgages, domestic EPC retrofit and non-traditional property.
Rebecca Freeman, director of field operations at CSS, commented: “Hugh is a highly skilled and effective communicator with excellent leadership and management skills which team members within his region will certainly benefit from. He has established an outstanding reputation within the sector and we are looking forward to the experience and enthusiasm he will add to CSS and his ability to mentor and develop colleagues to help them maximise their potential.”
Hugh Riley added: “This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-structured organisation which is leading the way in residential surveying on a national scale. CSS is able to offer new openings for every level of surveyor experience and I am excited to be able to contribute to the business through the experience I have gained over my many years in the property sector.
“The CSS South-West region has a great surveying skillset, established mainstream client base with excellent valuation volume, regular CPD meetings and a supportive Trainee programme. With CSS introducing new technology for field surveyors and new products for the marketplace, I am excited to be able to help lead this journey within the region and support our surveyors in further enhancing the customer and client experience.”
