Begbies Traynor acquires property finance brokerage
Begbies Traynor Group has acquired London-based property finance brokerage, Mantra Capital.
Mantra is an FCA-regulated brokerage, providing property investment and development finance for trading businesses and residential mortgages, as well as an insurance brokerage service to their commercial clients.
The Mantra team will retain their brand, but work alongside the MAF Finance Group, who Begbies Traynor acquired last year, and will together operate within the Group’s new BTG Funding Solutions division.
This will encompass expertise across a range of sectors including real estate, construction, engineering and manufacturing, haulage, healthcare, agriculture, renewables and vehicles. The combined team of 70 employees provides enhanced national coverage and has arranged finance in excess of £800m for clients over the last twelve months.
Nimesh Sanghrajka, managing director at Mantra Group, commented: “The acquisition of Mantra Group by BTG represents a desire to create a market-leading debt advisory, mortgage, and insurance business. BTG have grown both organically and via acquisition over the years, and the addition of Mantra Group continues that trajectory.
"Nick and I have poured absolutely everything into the business, the brand, the clients we serve and our people and whilst we thought about this deal long and hard, ultimately it was an easy decision. This now gives us a national platform to showcase our collective skills and today marks a checkpoint where we accelerate our journey into becoming one of the largest finance and insurance brokerages in the UK.”
