April Mortgages appoints head of intermediary relationships in new distribution structure
The lender has pledged to put adviser support at the heart of its new distribution strategy.
April Mortgages has introduced a new distribution structure designed to give advisers clearer relationships, practical day-to-day support and direct access to decision-makers.
The new model brings together three areas: strategic relationship leadership, focused service improvement and direct underwriting access.
Michael Brown (pictured) has been appointed head of intermediary relationships and will lead April’s key distribution partnerships. His expanded role will provide strategic oversight while ensuring April maintains a close understanding of each partner’s business, priorities and opportunities.
Michael will be supported by Lewis Chinyou-Robinson, who will lead a programme of operational and service improvements focused on the adviser experience. His focus will be on removing friction, strengthening day-to-day support and turning adviser feedback into action.
Direct underwriting access will remain central to the model. Lou Blair, head of underwriting, will continue to work closely with April’s intermediary partners and remain personally available to support individual adviser enquiries and case-related matters.
Mark Eaton, chief operating officer at April Mortgages, said: “Our distribution strategy is focused on giving advisers the support they need to confidently place cases with April.
“We have intentionally built the new structure around three things our partners tell us matter: strong relationships, practical support and easy access to decision-makers.
“Michael will provide clear leadership across our intermediary partnerships, Lewis will turn feedback into meaningful service improvements, and Lou and our underwriting team will remain directly accessible when advisers need to discuss a case.
“It gives our partners the best of both worlds: a strong strategic relationship and fast, human support when it matters most.”
Michael Brown, head of intermediary relationships at April Mortgages, added: “The strongest distribution relationships are built by understanding how our partners operate, listening to what their advisers need and acting on that insight.
“Our new structure gives partners strategic oversight, focused support and a direct route into underwriting. We answer the phone, we look at the detail and we work with advisers to understand what may be possible.”
